Back garden design

A St Albans plot with a small patio and a half-dead lawn, rebuilt and then maintained each month.

After

When the crew arrived at Mr Mason’s house in St Albans there was a small patio and a lawn that was half dead.

The old lawn came up and the ground was dug out for a sandstone patio, one of the surfaces asked for most often. New fence panels went in at the same time. Block paving then formed the edge between patio and lawn. A deck was added at the back for summer. Handrails can be built where a deck needs them.

Lawn and planting followed. The soil was poor, so seeding topsoil was brought in before the turf. Mr Mason was pleased enough that the garden is now maintained every month.

Service: Low maintenance garden design. Town: St Albans.
